Acamas

Trojan War Eusorus Ajax Telamonius

Hero Male

Acamas

Acamas was the son of the Thracian king Eusorus. He was famed for swiftness and valour and was held in high regard by the Trojan warriors, for Ares had taken his shape on the battlefield to encourage them. He and his companion Peirous were the leaders of the Thracian troops that fought for King Priam against the Greeks in the Trojan War, where he was killed either by Ajax son of Telamon or by Idomeneus. He is often confused with the Attic hero of the same name, who was the son of Theseus and brother of Demophon, and with Acamas the son of Antenor, who is also mentioned by Homer.
