Kαλοῦσι δὲ Κερναῖοι τὴν Ἀθηνᾶν Γοργώ, ὥσπερ τὴν Ἄρτεμιν Θρᾷκες μὲν Βένδιν, Κρῆτες δὲ Δίκτυναν, Λακεδαιμόνιοι δὲ Οὖπιν.

Οι Κερναίοι αποκαλούν την Αθηνά Γοργώ, όπως ακριβώς οι Θράκες αποκαλούν την Άρτεμη Βενδίδα, οι Κρήτες Δικτύννα, οι Λακεδαιμόνιοι Ούπι.
