Rembrandt's oil painting depicts Hades abducting Persephone. Two horses pull his most luxurious chariot and drive it to the right, towards the Underworld kingdom. Persephone urgently attempts to flee, while her companions on the left attempt to save her as well, dragging her by the hem of her cloak.
