Mousaios with his teacher Linos 

Young Mousaios with his teacher Linos is depicted in the interior of this kylix (drinking cup). Mousaios stands naked holding a pinax (tablet) in order to record down whatever he needs. His teacher Linos is bearded and he wears a himation. He is seated on a klismos (chair) and he holds an openned papyrus. Τhe word "sophrosyne" (prudence) can be read οn the papyrus. The names of the figures are above them "ΜΟΣΑΙΟΣ" and "ΛΙΝΟΣ".
