Dionysus in his childhood

A bronze chytroid vase with a horizontal, wide handle at the height of the rim was discovered in one of two cremations excavated in a sepulchral tomb 1.5 km northwest of Traianoupolis and 12 km northeast of Alexandroupolis. As a decorativeelement, there is a statuette of the god Dionysus at the top of it. The god is naked and reclining in his childhood. He raises his right hand and his eyes. His eyes are silver and have been implanted. A handle with a bull's head may be found on the other side of the vase.
