The Altinalmazi Ecopark in 2017 took the place of an old army camp. After all the military buildings were demolished, the area was transformed into a green space. Facilities, pavilions, walking paths, exhibition areas and a 1,500-seat theatre were built. It includes a space specially designed for walking with pets.

It was named in honor of Konstantinos Altinalmazis, mayor of Alexandroupolis from 1924 to 1941.
