A stage of treading grapes is depicted, on the main side of the krater. Around a lenos (wine press) there are three satyrs with long beards, only two of them are partially dressed with leopard skin. The satyr on the left raises a pointed amphora, the second satyr in the center is in the lenos and treads the grapes, while he is assisted by the third one on the right. There is a rhyton under the lenos, a drinking vessel that was used in various rituals, and a calyx-krater for collecting the must. God Dionysos stands to the right. He wears a long chiton, a himation, and a headband. He supervises the process of the wine production. On krater’s other side, there are two naked satyrs flanking a maenad, all Dionysus' company.
