Dionysos wearing an ivy wreath

On the obverse of this Thassian silver tetradrachm, the head of Dionysos is depicted. The god appears young and beardless. He wears an ivy leaves wreath. On the reverse, Herakles is depicted holding the lion skin and his club. There is also the inscription ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ (Herakles Soter / Savior), the ethnic name ΘΑΣΙΩΝ (by Thassian’s citizens) and the monogram ΔΙ.
