Kyrgia 

Town of the prefecture of Drama. Most of the inhabitants work in agriculture. The village was named after the Turkish word Kir, which means “dry place”.

After the Greco-Turkish War (1919–1922), refugees from Eastern Thrace, Pontus and Cappadocia came to the settlement. Kyria is famous for its halva.
