Tereus and Pandion

Tereus is depicted to the right as a bearded warrior with unkempt hair, long bony nose and furrowed brow. He is holding a stick. He can be identified thankd to the inscription ΤΕΛΕΩ, and his specific, non-Athenian features. To the left there is a man wearing a himation and holding a stick. He is probably the Athenian king Pandion. The scene is thus, depicting Tereus asking Pandion for permission to marry his daughter, Prokne.
