The church was inaugurated in 1884 and was dedicated to Saint Nikolaos. According to testimonies, the aga of the area was asked to grant an area for its construction in an area that pre-existed a small church.
The church is built of stone in the style of a tree-aisled wooden-roofed basilica, with a narthex and a nave. It has two bell towers with a small dome in the central aisle. There are many icons of great historical value inside.
