The stone bridge of Drama is located just outside the settlement of Nikiforos, on the road towards Paranesti, on the National Road from Drama to Xanthi. The bridge was formerly an aqueduct, probably Roman. It stretches 44 meters long, while it is 1.5 meters wide and 5 meters high.
According to a legend, the bridge is associated with the Ottoman hero Debreli Hassan, who is said to have been active in the area around it between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Hassan was a sort of Robin Hood, who robbed the rich and then benefited the poor. The story is captured in the folk song "The Bridge of Drama".
