The Virgin Mountain Forest Paranesti mountain race is organized by the Municipality of Paranesti and the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace. Normally, the event is held every October with the participation of runners from all over Greece.
The main route is 162 km long at an altitude of 6,889 meters and it takes about 40 hours to complete with a total of 12 stops.
