Thracian Meteora is a rocky area of unique beauty in the regional unit of Rodopi. The imposing rocks, with a maximum height of 1450 meters, which dominate the valley over the river Kompsatos, near the settlement of Iasmos, are home to many birds of prey, as well as wild horses. Access to the area is by car from forest roads and trails. There is a mountain shelter in the area.
