Lagites (also known as lalagites) used to be a type of sweet traditionally made from porridge (a sparse dough) baked on top of a round and hot stone; they are covered with honey or cheese and served folded like French crepes. Alternatively, lagites are prepared by deep frying the dough like pancakes or donuts.
According to tradition, lagites were cooked for the feast of Saints Saranda and then offered to everyone in the neighborhood.
