Armenian church built at the northwestern end of the fortified hill in the Palio area. It was, at first, a Byzantine church, dedicated to Saint Georgios Paleokastritis. John Kantakouzinos was crowned emperor here in 1341. The church was then given to the Armenian community, and in 1735 the new church was built nearby. There are tombstones of 1816 in its courtyard. A marble inscription mentions 30 May 1838 as the date of its reconstruction.
