Green, picturesque village in the regional unit of Drama, on the Greek-Bulgarian border. It was named after the granite quarries in the area. Due to its exceptional climate, there used to be a sanatorium here in the past. After World War II, children’s camps were built by the Diocese of Drama.
The church of Taxiarches, built in 1873, is an interesting attraction of the village. After the Greco-Turkish War (1919–1922), refugees settled in the village.
