The church was built in 1803 in Theologos, Thassos and is dedicated to Dimitrios (St Demetrios), the patron saint of the area. It is three-aisled basilica with a narthex and a nave that leads to an internal and external staircase with elements of folk architecture. In the church stands the handmade wooden iconostasis with images from the Old and New Testament.
It was built by the monk Ignatios Filotheitis and its construction lasted for eight years. The craftsman carved the evangelists and the apostles on top of the walls, while below, to the right and left, there is a row of saints. In the middle of the pulpit, there is a portrait of the craftsman. In the church two icons of Mary are kept, which were brough here for protection from Panagouda.
