Village in the regional unit of Evros, on the north bank of the Ardas, near the border with Bulgaria.

In the past, during the religious festival of the 15th of August, people used to come to the church of the Assumption of Mary; they used to burn wood and lay on the ashes healing themselves from disease. The village was, thus, named Therapio (that is, therapy) in memory of this ritual.
