The construction of the church which started in 1818 and finished in 1863. It is a basilica and has double stone floors in the women’s quarters. Its roof rests on 12 columns on which are the icons of the 12 apostles. The iconostasis of the church, work of the wood sculptor Stamatis Taliadouros from Madytos, Eastern Thrace, is of rare beauty and historical value. The bell tower of the church was built in 1910, it is 25 meters high and bears four clocks.
