It is the largest town of Drama.
Its most important sight is the early Christian basilica church south of the town, the Byzantine church of Agios Panteleimon of the Palaiologan era (second half of the 13th century), and the Primary School which was built in 1909 and is a listed historic and protected monument. There are also a Folklore Museum, a Monument to the Macedonian warriors and a Monument to the National Martyrs.
