Ο Ήλιος από τον οποίο δεν κρύβεται κατά την αρπαγή της Αφροδίτης ούτε ο παντοδύναμος στα όπλα Άρης – ο Άρης, γιος χωρίς πατέρα, που τον λατρεύει το θρακικό Γένος – Γένος αχαλίνωτο ανδρών, στους οποίους σε κάθε έγκλημα ρέπει το Δίκαιο – το Δίκαιο επιτρέπει την ανθρωποθυσία σε αυτόν τον τόπο: έτσι άγριο είναι το Ήθος.

Helios, whom nothing escapes: not even, as he carried off Aphrodite, the invincible warrior Ares – Ares, son with no father, adored by the Thracian Race – Race unbridled, of men given to every crime by Right – Right permits human sacrifice in this place: such is the savage Custom.
