The Paranesti Railway Station was inaugurated in 1900 and is located in the settlement of the same name. It belongs to the Thessaloniki-Alexandroupolis line, which is the central railway artery of Northern Greece. It is located between the stations Drama (to Thessaloniki), Platania (to Athens), Stavroupolis (to Dikaia) and Neochori (to Alexandroupolis).
Important parts of the station are the shell of the passenger building, the engine room, the water tower and the shell of the foreman's residence. The above buildings date from the 19th century and have been designated monuments by the Central Council of Modern Monuments.
