Town in Rodopi. Most of its inhabitants are refugees from Eastern and Northern Thrace. The broader area is renowned for its garlic.
Archaeological findings have been discovered in the area. The folklore museum is one of the town's attractions.
Every year, on Shrove Monday the traditional festivals of Isnafia and Babo take place and also the custom of traditional wrestling was carried out by refugees from Bulgaria.
