A picturesque chapel, located approximately 21 kilometers southeast of Kamariotissa, built literally on the edge of the cliff at a height of 311 meters, gives the impression of being suspended in the air. The chapel was named after this characteristic.
The icon of the Virgin Mary (Panagia) is believed to date back to the period of Iconoclasm. According to tradition, it was found by fishermen in the bay of Pachia Ammos. The view from the chapel is breathtaking. Visitors need to climb about 50 steps carved into the rock to reach it.
