Ares and Aphrodite 

Fresco from "Casa del Amore Punito" in Pompeii with Ares and Aphrodite, 1st c. AD

A fresco with Ares and Aphrodite is preserved from the House of the Punished Eros in Pompeii. The god of war wears a chiton and a helmet. He holds a spear in his right hand and extends his left towards Aphrodite, who sits on a throne. There is a winged Eros on the right and a servant of Aphrodite on the left.
