non me carminibus vincet nec Thracius Orpheus                     

nec Linus, huic mater quamvis atque huic pater adsit,

Orphei Calliopea, Lino formosus Apollo.

Δεν θα με νικούσε στο τραγούδι ούτε ο θρακιώτης Ορφέας ούτε ο Λίνος, ακόμα κι αν τον βοηθούσε τον ένα η μητέρα και τον άλλο ο πατέρας του, τον Ορφέα η Καλλιόπη, τον Λίνο ο όμορφος Απόλλωνας.

Thracian Orpheus and Linus will not overcome me in song, though his mother helps the one, his father the other, Calliope Orpheus, and lovely Apollo Linus.
