On the reverse of a bronze coin dated to the time of the Roman emperor Severus Alexander (222-235 A.D.), Leander is depicted swimming in the sea, heading towards a tower, where Hero is waiting for him, lighting his way with a lamp. Above the two figures, a winged Eros flies, holding a torch. The ethnic name of the citizens of Sestos (ϹΗϹΤΙΩΝ) is written around the scene.

On the obverse, the portrait of the emperor Marcus Aurelius Severus Alexander is depicted. There is also an inscription with his name (ΑV Κ Μ Α ϹЄ ΑΛЄΞΑΝΔΡΟϹ).
