Boreas and Oreithia

This rhyton is a very luxurious vessel for ritual libations. On the neck of the vessel, there is a scene with Boreas embracing Oreithia. To the right stands the goddess Athena and to the left Erechtheus, the mythical king of Athens and father of Oreithia.
