Two Kabeiroi

On the reverse side of a bronze coin issued by the island Thassos, the heads of two Kabeiroi are depicted. They are young and wear pilos (a cap with a conical shape) and a wreath of laurel leaves. Two stars are above their heads. All is enclosed in a vine-wreath. At the lower part of the coin there is the inscription [ΘΑ]Σ[Ι]ΩΝ ([THA]S[I]ON, the citizen of Thassos). On the obverse side the goddess Demeter is depicted wearing a wreath made of wheat.
