protinus haerentem decerpsi pollice florem;              
       tangitur, et tacto concipit illa sinu.
iamque gravis Thracen et laeva Propontidos intrat,
      fitque potens voti, Marsque creatus erat.

Αμέσως έκοψα με τον αντίχειρά μου το κρεμαστό λουλούδι και άγγιξα την Ήρα και εκείνη συνέλαβε με το άγγιγμα στο στήθος της. Τώρα, έγγυος πια, ταξίδεψε στη Θράκη και στις βόρειες ακτές της Προποντίδας και η ευχή της εκπληρώθηκε και ο Άρης γεννήθηκε.
