At the Roman Fort of Aggitis
On the hill where the Cave of Maara is located, the ruins of a fortification of the Late Roman or Early Byzantine period can be seen.
The surviving walls are between 1 and 3 m high and 1,30 m thick. The fortress provided control of the area and protection for the inhabitants.
