From the olive tree to olive oil
The Museum of Olive is located in the old cooperative olive mill of Elaiochori. It operated from 1950 to 1970 when it was abandoned. In 2008, after the restoration of the area and maintenance of the mechanical equipment of the mill, it reopened its doors. This time not for the processing of olives but for memories.
Apart from the exhibition of machinery, objects, tools for the cultivation of the olive and the production of olive oil or other derivatives, the museum aims to promote and preserve the historical memory of this traditional and ancient activity.
The museum has an event hall and an open-air theatre.
