The blackboard and the school aprons tell the story
The building of the 5th kindergarten in the churchyard of Agios Georgios was founded by the couple of the Epirotes Hatzis Konstantinos Zoidis and his wife Vasiliki in 1882. Since 1995 it has housed the Thracian Museum of Education. It was founded by the then president of the Society of Pedagogical Sciences of Komotini, Alexandros Kazantzis.
In the Museum's premises you will see old pupil desks, school aprons, educational equipment and books of earlier years. Many of them are important for the history of Thrace and Greece. Both the exhibits and the educational activities organized here take adults back to their school days and introduce young students to the educational practices and resources of the past.
