At the location of Paliokastro, the traces of the castle are just visible. No excavations have been carried out at the site to have a secure date of its construction. The Ministry of Culture classifies the castle as Post-Byzantine (1453-1821). The ruins are located northwest of the settlement of Kariani. Access is easy.
