The celebration has been held since 1999 in Kali Vrysi, at the archeological site of the Sanctuary of Dionysus. The events are organized by the Cultural Association in collaboration with the archeological service, the Regional Unit of Drama and the Municipality of Prosotsani. The celebration takes place in mid-August, on the day of the Full Moon.

The evening begins with dancing and is followed by artistic and traditional music. The Sanctuary of Dionysus is of particular importance for Kali Vrysi because it is directly connected with its history and with the action of Babougera.
