On the Saturday of Lazarus, the Cultural Association of the Municipality of Prosotsani, celebrates the customs of Lazarus, the Lazarus carols and the Lenten Evening. On the Saturday morning of Lazarus, children dressed in traditional Thracian costumes sing Lazarian carols in the streets of Prosotsani holding baskets decorated with flowers and eggs. Passers-by throw money into the children's baskets, unlike in the past who threw fruits, nuts and eggs.
The same evening, the Lenten Evening is held with Thracian dances, carols and traditional songs from the Association's choir. Fasting dishes are offered during the evening.
