Past meets the present of silk
The neoclassical building in Soufli center houses the exhibits of the museum of Silk Art. You can see all the stages, from the rearing of the silkworm and the bouncing, the unwinding of the cocoon and the creation of the thread, to the final production of silk garments. Textile machines, tools, silk garments relate to the visitors the secrets an old but not forgotten art. Rich audiovisual material informs and explains the various stages and weaving techniques.
The museum has an electronic tour guide system in the following languages: Greek, English, French, German and English. For visually impaired people there is a tour in Braille. The museum is fully accessible to people with disabilities.
