Reviving Thracian folklore in Stavroupolis
The Folklore Museum of Stavroupolis was founded in 1994 and opened in 2001 in the municipal building of the former Tobacco Ephorate. The first objects belonged to the collection of Stavros Karampatzakis. Later it was enriched with tools, utensils, weapons, textiles, old photographs, clothing and various other objects of the urban and rural houses of Thrace.
Interesting thematic sections are the collection of lamps and lanterns, the typical Thracian room and that of traditional clothing from Thrace and other regions.
