Agios Panteleimonas Monastery (Thassos)

The monastery is located at an altitude of approximately 770 meters, on the top of Mount Ypsario, after Kazaviti. It was built in 1843, in the green nature of the island and is a women's convent.

According to tradition, the saint himself was an ascetic for a while in the cave next to the monastery. The old church is built from stones from the mountain and has a wooden roof, covered with slate slabs.

The monastery celebrates on July 27 and a big religious festival takes place.
