The cave of the Nymphs on the rocky peninsula of Nea Heraklitsa, at the site of Aetoplagia was in use during the Neolithic and Bronze Age. The two chambers of the cave were used as an agricultural sanctuary of the Nymphs. Inscriptions and pottery shells found by the researchers gave evidence of cultic use, rituals with sacrifices and feasts from the 6th century BC to the Hellenistic period. In the following centuries it was not used systematically, perhaps due to the collapse of the roof of the vestibule.
The cave is not open to visitors but if you are a hiking enthusiast the view from the entrance will impress you. It is on the list of declared archeological sites.
