A small church in the castle of Didymoteicho

The vaulted church of Agia Marina in Didymoteicho must have been built in the 19th century, if not earlier. As seen from its masonry, it has undergone many renovations and repairs. The renovation of the early 20th century altered its original appearance to a great extent.

Every year from 15 to 17 July, it is celebrated with great splendor. The procession of the epitaph and relics of Agia Marina starts from the church of Agios Athanasios in the castle and ends here.
