History, tradition and culture of Evros

The Historical Museum of Alexandroupolis has been operating since 2011. On the three floors of the museum there is a permanent exhibition of the history of Alexandroupolis, an exhibition on the Sarakatsans of Thrace, and a collection of paintings by local artists. There is also a library with publications about Alexandroupolis and Thrace as well as a rich archive material about the city from printed periodicals or the daily press. Periodic exhibitions and events are held on the ground floor.
