South of the settlement, the castle walls are preserved in sections. The northern wall has suffered the greatest damage and is barely visible. However, in some parts of the other sides it is preserved at its original height so that the ramparts are clearly visible.
Its construction dates from the 18th century but it may be older. In any case, it was built during the Ottoman rule to control the Strymon estuary.
Access to the castle is easy.
