Metropolitan church of the city of Kavala, built inside the fortress. It was built in 1866. It is five-aisled basilica with a small dome and Corinthian capitals. The colonnades, the decoration of the iconostasis and the plaster decorations on the roof are all neoclassical. The icons of the iconostasis date back to the 19th c. except for that of Agios Ioannis which was created in 1921.
