The four-lined snake (lat. Elaphe quatuorlineata) is a snake that is widespread throughout Southern Europe, mainly in Italy and the Balkans. One of Greece's longest snakes, it is harmless for humans since it is non-venomous.  It is grayish, with two dorsal and two lateral stripes.
