The Levant sparrowhawk (lat. Accipiter brevipes) is a small-sized bird of prey. It is similar to the Eurasian sparrowhawk and occurs in forests in the Balkans to southern Russia. It is migratory, wintering from Egypt across to southern Iran. The Levant sparrowhawk nests in trees, and feeds on small birds, insects, rodents, and lizards it normally hunts in woodland or semi-desert areas.
