Picturesque mountain village in the island of Thassos. The village is traditional with narrow cobbled streets and typical Macedonian architecture. It used to be the island's capital and it is a listed traditional settlement.
Every summer a representation of the Thassian wedding takes place. There is a Folklore Museum, an arched stone bridge of traditional architecture and the churches of Agia Paraskevi and Agios Dimitrios in the village.
The village is also famous for its cuisine.
