The springs of Voirani are located outside Agios Athanasios, which was formerly called Borgiani or Borgiani. It is said that this name is associated with "Boirani", a word reminiscent of the sound of spring water.

Nowadays, in the area there are private leisure facilities where one can go cycling, canoeing, kayaking or just enjoy a walk in nature.
