The turkey oak (lat. Quercus cerris) also known as Austrian oak is a tree that is endemic in South-Eastern Europe and Asia Minor. It is a kind of oak - typical of the Greek flora - with long leaves and characteristic relatively long-shaped fruit, the acorns; acorn cups are densely covered in soft 'mossy' bristles.
